Ian Roberts has served as CTO of Bühler since 2011. During that period the company has undergone a digital transformation, focused innovation on supporting customers to deliver their sustainability targets and expanded business activities into bioprocessing through the establishment of partnerships and new companies. The company has undergone a change in innovation culture, playing a role as an ecosystem builder and partner to continuously maintain an innovation leadership position. A strong advocate for entrepreneurship and sustainability, he is a co-founder and president of the startup accelerator MassChallenge Switzerland and is a board member of RESTOR, a global ecology and land restoration platform. He is a non-executive director of AAK. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the food industry, having previously worked in a range of innovation and business development roles for Nestlé. He has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wales and is a Fellow of the
Institute of Chemical Engineers.
