Alia is a communications aficionado (as colleagues describe her) with 14 years experience in communications, public relations and events across the Middle East, Africa and Turkey regions. Her experience spans lifting mindshare of tech and aviation brands to B2B audiences. Alia has worked with leading brands in the Middle East like Google Cloud, Etihad Airways, CNBC Arabia and had a stint with Dubai Government. She is well known for her instrumental role in establishing the communications program for Google Cloud and for positioning the cloud provider as top of mind for technology journalists and news outlets in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region. Alia also spearheaded all the latest cloud region and investment announcements that Google Cloud made in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and South Africa. One of the best PR campaigns Alia revels in is leading the media profiling of Vint Cerf [The Founding Father of the Internet] at the Informatics Award from the Royal Court of the Emir of Kuwait. Alia is renowned for transforming complex topics into appealing, fun and understandable content that can be comprehended by a big audience. She collaborated with YouTube’s #1 aviation blogger, Sam Chui, to produce an exclusive “Behind the scenes in Air Traffic Control @ Dubai Airports” documentary that has more than 6 million views to date. In her current role, Alia is leading the corporate communications program and campaigns for Tetra Pak across all 12 countries in the Arabia market, where she is set to grow the company’s share of voice in the packaging, manufacturing and sustainability industries. Originally hailing from Egypt, Alia was born in Sweden and lived in China, India and Uzbekistan. Her international background has helped her blend well in multinational corporate cultures and deliver successful internal communication initiatives. Alia holds a masters in marketing communications from Middlesex University London and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the American University in Cairo.
