Tom has enjoyed a 22-year career in food retail.  He moved to the UAE to join Spinneys Commercial team in 2017 after working across the buying teams of several of the leading supermarket groups in UK.   

As part of the Executive Leadership Team, Tom leads the overall sourcing and commercial function for the group with responsibility for a team spread across four continents to source all the products for Spinneys and Waitrose stores across UAE, Oman and KSA.  During his seven years at Spinneys, Tom has been responsible for the creation of the Spinneys Local Business Incubator Programme, driven the Spinneys private label brand share and overall market share to record levels and led Spinneys’ response to managing the Covid panic buying crisis. He implemented the first supplier conference programme hosted by any UAE food retailer leading to Spinneys achieving its highest ever ranking in supplier feedback surveys. 

Tom is a regular guest speaker on DubaiEye 103.8FM on matters affecting the food and supermarket industries and was ranked in the Arabian Business Power List Top 100 people you need to know in Dubai for 2023 and 2024.
